First time poster. I'm trying to join a new Windows 7 Pro computer to a Server 2003 (service pack 2) domain. I have a large number of XP Pro machines on it. When trying to join to the domain, I get the username and password prompt, but directly after typing the info in, I get: An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Is the DNS server 192.168.1.1 the server hosting the Active Directory zone? Or is this your internet router? I would recommend that your clients point to the AD/DNS server hosting the AD zone.
