Trouble with MATSHITA DVD UJ8FBS

Hi, I have a trouble with the MATSHITA DVD UJ8FBS on my notebook ASUS, Windows 8.1. After first two mounths when all was OK, now the drive doesn't appear in My Computer resources and no disks (DVD and CD's) are recognized. Has anyone experimented the same thing? Any suggestion for solutions?
