UAC Virtualization
Is there a way to have an application automatically run using UAC virtualization?

Hi Jason,
Could you elaborate what you want to achieve? If you are refering to File and Registry Virtualization this is enabled by default on Windows 7 machines.Blogging about Windows for IT pros at

Hi Jason,
Please refer to the following links to check if they give any hints:

I think this issue might be related to how the application is designed, and I suggest posting a new thread in
Security for Applications in Microsoft Windows forum
for discussion.

I can right-click a process in TaskMgr and enable UAC virtualization and make it behave like a legacy app. I was wondering if there's a flag or reg setting that would allow me to apply this setting without openingup task manager.Jason Yates

Hi Jason,
Thank you for your response.
Please understand that controlling virtualization at an application level by using
requestedExecutionLevel in the manifest, an administrator can enable or disable virtualization on a per-key basis for keys in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.

I have read plenty of ways to turn it on, but none to disable it if it is already enabled on the system. How do you do that?
