UAC control for uninstalling Apps
Hi, Is there a way either via script\sccm etc to enable a std user to uninstall a program without having a UAC box pop up?? While I can see the advantages of UAC for doing this having to give a user an admin account\password or have a desktop support person attend while a user unintsalls an APP is just crazy in an environment like ours of 10000 plus users and 4000 odd packages. how do other companies manages this?? surely others must have an automated way of doing this when a user requests software to be uninstalled. Are there 3rd party tools that can do this?? any help would be appreciated And yes we don't want to go the Applocker route as that doesn't uninstall the app. cheers

Standard user should never have the option to uninstall applications! You should consider to use AppV and roll out the application based on groups membership. So you can control which use can use which application."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I am just curious, how did you deploy these programs to these standard users at beginning? Have you tried the suggestion in the following article? How to use Group Policy to remotely install software in Windows Server 2003 and in Windows Server 2008 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
