UNABLE TO USE HOMEGROUP PASSWORD
Hi, Thanks to anyone in advance for their hard learned help. I have had my wife´s pc and my own upgraded locally and although I can see her pc on mine, I cannot place any files on her pc and vice versa. There seems to be a password placed by the shop and no matter what I do I can find no password anywhere, no facility to change anything at all. My wife has windows 7 home and I have windows 7 ultimate. Hers shows WORKGROUP, mine shows HOMEGROUP, maybe that is where the problem lies? When I did it myself, I sorted the password out myslef, the shop has taken that away from me and wants a call out charge to sort it, and am not happy at all. All I WANT AND NEED to do is , access my wife´s pc via the router connections, and get the homegroup password or something more positive. Many thanks indeed Steve

Go into the Control Panel and then open HomeGroup. You should be able to see any passwrod if there is one set and to set the two computer to the HomeGroup condition.

Hi, Please try Rick’s suggestion to find the password back. If not, I suggest you leave HomeGroup on your machine and create a new one. During the setup procedure of HomeGroup, you will get a new HomeGroup password or you can manually type your own password. Regards, Novak
