UPnP over IPv6
Hello. I have a question about the interaction between Vista and IGD(Internet Gateway Device). Vista can monitor and control IGD via UPnP protocol. When the network interface on thePC (the PC runs Vista) is configured to use IPv4 and the UPnP capability is enabled, the IGD icon appears in the networking and sharing center. We can set up NAT port mapping via the UPnP control point UI in Vista. Now, I'mextending an IGD device to support UPnP over IPv6. The network interface on thePC is configured to use IPv6. When interacting with my IGD device, the control point UI appears but is incomplete. Vistaonly displays manufacturer information. The port mapping page disapprears. I use Ethereal to capture the messages exchanged between Vista and my IGD device and find that Vista stop further steps after receiving UPnP device description (control point is expected to ask for service description after receiving device description). I guess that Vista is designed to interact with IGD via IPv4 only. Can someone please tell me whether my guess is correct?
