URGENT: My network admin is secretly checking my emails and monitoring my network....please help
Hi guys, I have a little problem here....please help. Here is the problem in a nutshell. I'm on a laptop connected to my home wireless network. I didn't set up the network and I'm not the network admin. A while ago, I found out that my network admin has been secretly checking my emails for a long time. At this point the admin doesn't know that I "know" about his activities, and I'd like to keep it that way. Anyways, the only way he could've done this, I assumed, was either he planted a keylogger on my PC and/or monitoring my network traffic. I quickly did some research and below are steps I HAVE taken: - Completely wiped the computer (I said I had to get rid of a virus so he didn't get suspicious about me wiping it - how ironic...) - Set up a system pw that requires me to enter the pw EVERY time the laptop is powered on - Set up only one admin account (my own) - Chose a very strong Windows pw (close to 30 characters) - Turned off remote desktop, file sharing, etc - Always use a VPN when connected to the Internet If anyone could let me know if I did something wrong, or any other suggestions, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks so much. D
