Unable to associate with Microsoft MN-700 Wireless Router
I upgraded my Thinkpad T42p laptop from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate (RTM) and after the upgrade I am unable to associate with a Microsoft MN-700 wireless router. This was working before the upgrade and I am able to associate with other wireless routers. When I run the troubleshooter I get the following message: Detailed root cause: 802.11 connection failed due to status code 25: Association denied due to requesting station not supporting the Short Slot Time option How can I correct this problem?

Ensure that the ssid, passphrase is the same for the wireless connection in your laptop as well as in the router configuration page. Do not enable any wep, wpa while doing the above, set everything to default till you get it detected and running then secure it

These obvious suggestions were not helpful in solving the problem. I checked all these before submitting my post.

Get into the wireless adapter properties and see if the Advanced > 802.11b Preamble setting is set to Long and Short which should be the default. This talks about the issue...http://www.tomsguide.com/us/802,review-120-5.htmlMS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"
