Unable to gain remote access over network
I'm trying to allow my business partner to access my SQLServer on Vista, but he has windows 7. I've added him as a user and set up an account in SQL. He is picking up the wireless network but is unable to gain access to me machine. What am I doing wrong? TomThomas G Magaro

Hi I assume that other users that run other OS' (not Win 7) can connect remotely via Wireless to your SQL Server. In such case, check the Win 7 configuration and make sure that it is configured to be on Work Network. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Networking-home-computers-running-different-versions-of-Windows Make sure that the Win 7 Wireless is configured correctly, and can access your computer in general (like seeing the public folders). Thanks Jack, I'll give that a try. TomThomas G Magaro
