Unable to login to my user account after installing XP SP3
Original title: Problems after SP3I run Windows XP. After getting the new SP3 update, Windows could not find my user profile when I tried to sign on. So it created a new user profile for me using my husband's programs. Where are my programs?? I tried downloading a "work around" but no difference. I tried system restore but it could not restore as my computer had not been changed. How can I find "me"?

Hi,1. Do you get any error when you try to login to your account?2. Do you see any other restore points on your computer?Step 1: Try to boot into safe mode and check if you can login to your account.Refer this article:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222Step 2: Login to the newly created user account andcopy all the settings and contents from the previous userfolder to the new user.Refer this KB article for help:How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile in Windows XP:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151Regards,Afzal Taher-Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
