Unable to see first sentence in Lync Group IM

Initial chat message not getting displayed in Lync Group Conversation

A team member will start a group chat. User A will see the first sentence of the chat in the notification window that pops up in the bottom right screen. But when user opens the chat that first sentence will not be displayed.

this team chat has 22 members. The issue will not appear in a group chat with 5 members.

did some tests and it seems there is a delay as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2736787
Because of his name, user A will be the last one to receive the invite

When the team member that starts the group chat, sorts his colleagues by availability, user A will see the first sentence. It's unclear if somebody else is not receiving the first sentence as some people had their status on away.

This would be a good workaround but when everybody is on available it would not work.

Can you please confirm if this is expected behavior of Lync and has been addressed in Lync 2013 or can this be solved?

Hi sumesh,

I did some research and found some similar cases about this issue.

But theres actually no solid solution so far.

Due to you said the user can see the first sentence of the chat in the notification window that pops up in the bottom right screen.

Can you check if he can find the first sentence in Outlook Conversation History folder ?

Actually in my testing, when someone added me to a group chat, I did not see any sentence in the notification window as the following screenshot.
