Unidentified Network: No internet access Windows 7
Greetings,
I am having great difficulty connection to the internet. One day last week out of the blue, the internet connection went out. Called comcast, they sent someone over to help. That person was able to get my laptop wifi on the internet but
was unable to get my desktop (LAN) connected. My work laptop (XP) is also unable to access the internet. I have a desktop (Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit) with only an integrated LAN connection, a cable modem (comcast, which was replaced by the tech),
netgear router (WGT624v4). My desktop had some other problems so i decided to reformat the HD,thinking some other program might have caused the issue, but the problem persisted.
I have tried a number of solutions with no success:
- reset both modem and router
- update driver file on LAN ethernet card
- bypass router, go directly from modem to desktop (no joy)
- bypass router, go directly from modem to laptop (no joy)
- ipconfig /release and /renew
- route delete 0.0.0.0 (keeps coming back but doesn't work with or without it)
- no other software besides Win 7 is on the machine
- tried 3 different cables and all 4 ports in router (no joy)
- set DHCPBroadcast in regedit
- and a few others that i can't think of right now
I apreciate any assistance that you may be able to give.

Are you using a static IP or DHCP on the laptop that is not working? If you're using static IP, change to DHCP and see what happens...Blog: www.danielclasson.com/blog |

Hi,
As we cannot connect to the Internet even bypass the router, I suspect the issue may be more related to the Modem.
If possible, please re-place the Modem for a test. In addition, please contact your ISP and check if there is any problem with your Internet account.Kim Zhou
