Unidentified Network Issues
In September we replaced 2 older Dell laptops with new Inspiron Window 7 laptops. Since then, one laptop has had this issue twice and one has had it once. I was on with Dell Tech support for 2 hours with no solution. The first time I don't remember what
I did to finally get the laptop working again. The second time (First for the #2 laptop) I changed the SSID of the network and it connected fine. Now today I have the problem again on Laptop #1. I have no idea what to do but I am unable to connect to the network.
wireless capable phones are connecting with no issue.
One Desktop is connected, no issue.
I have tried rebooting,changing the SSID, check for the Bonjor service. Nothing seems to work. I am currently doing a restore to last nights settings since I did an update overnight.
Perhaps it is a Windows update that is causing it?

Hi,
Make sure the route firmware is up to date.
Please also try the following steps.
1. Manually assign a static IP address and DNS address on the machine for a test.
2. Modify the relevant security settings.
a. Type "gpedit.msc" in Start menu, right click it and click "Run as administrator".
b. Open Computer configuration -->Windows Settings -->Security Settings -->select Network list manager policies on the right Side you will see options for :
Double click -->Unidentified networks
Then you can select the option to consider the Unidentified networks as private and if user can change the location.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
