Unlicenced version
I have had a computer system pre-loaded with Windows XP for AT LEAST four years. Last week I got a message (which has made a mess of my desktop) saying mine is an unlicenced version. How can this be when the os has been running for FOUR years. I DO NOT want to migrate to Version 7 as I am an old man and wish to stay with what I know (XP). PLEASE can you help me. Many thanks.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, · Did you make any changes to the computer before you encountered the issue?· When do you get the error message about the unlicensed version?· What is the exact error message you get?· Who is the manufacturer of the computer?· Do you have the Installation disk for Windows XP? Method 1:You may try to re-activate the copy of the Operating system and check if that helps.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307890 Method 2:You may also try to validate the copy of Operating system installed on your computer.http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ValidateNow.aspx?displaylang=en Hope this information is helpful.Amrita MMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

In addition check your system date and time and make sure it is correct.
