Have you contacted Microsoft or your computer manufacturer for assistance ?If the answer to either question is No, then there is no reason for Microsoft (or any other reputable organisation) to request remote access to your computer. And in response to your question, it would definitely be unsafe to permit any unknown caller to have remote access your computer.A search of the Royal Mail postcode database does not reveal any address or postcode for Microsys Solutions in Bermondsey Street, London, SE1. Furthermore, the UK telephone directory does not list a number in London for that company.A Google search does identify a company named Microsys Solutions, which is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. (www.microsys-solutions.co.uk/services.htm). Although I have no knowledge of that company, I have no reason to doubt its credentials. However, I doubt whether the individual who contacted you is an employee or representative of Microsys Solutions, Edinburgh. You could contact Microsys Solutions (by email or telephone on 0131 620 8115) to report and clarify the situation. However, I suspect a scam and if you are in the UK, I suggest you also report the incidence to the police.

A friend of mine has just contacted me to tell me that he has been approached by the same outfit--"Microsys Solutions", Bermondsey Street, London. The call was unsolicited. Unfortunately he made the mistake of allowing them to access his PC remotely. And they tried to talk him into signing up to a security deal costing well over a £100 which he declined. These are scammers. Please be on your guard about this type of confidence trick. Unsolicited and unverified callers posing as "security experts" should never be allowed to remotely access your computer.

Do not give them access to your computer and do not give them any of your private information. Microsoft would have absolutely no way of knowing there are "errors" on your computer, and they would certainly not have another company contact you, nor would you ever receive an unsolicited call from Microsoft.

I am the Managing Director of Microsys Solutions Ltd in Edinburgh, and can assure everyone that this fraudulent activity does not relate to my company. We deal mostly with our locally based customers most of whom have contracts with us. We would never contact anyone relating to computer issues, unless they have made a requext for us to do so.We have had issues with people mistaking us for this company a few times.I believe the actual company to be listed in Companies house as : MICROSYS SERVICES AND SOLUTIONS LIMITED Company No. 073518399 BICKELS YARD 151-153 BERMONDSEY STREETLONDON ENGLAND SE1 3HA We have reported this to the police, who would not deal with us because we have not had the fraud committed against us. Since then we have asked anyone who has had issues with this company or a similar scam to contact the police in the hope that they will put a stop to it.I did contact the BBC Watchdog program about it, in the hope that they would mention it on the television, and alert people to this risk, however I have not had a reply. If anyone experiences a similar issue, please contact the police. The sooner they are dealt with the better for everyone concerned. Please note,I believe they may also act under different names such as :Go Green PC and PC Miles
