Update Issues
Downloaded the security updates today and my System crashed. Then I loaded them one by one and all went well 'til I downloaded Security Update KB2617657. I have tried it 4 times and my System starts up and before it gets to the login screen, the screen goes black. The hard drive light is steady on but the screen is black. I have to do a hard stop, restart and hit the F11 button and do a restore to a time five minutes before the update. All is well as long as I din't Download KB2617657. What's up with that?

If the update is causing the computer to reboot then why do you need that update ?. Do not manually install, just turn on automatic updates and let it install the updates.Regards, h9ck3r.

Hi, I suspect the update conflicted with other third party software. I have installed this update without problem. It is to say, it is not the problem of the update. I suggest you uninstall unused programs, scan for computer fully, update BIOS and all possible devices driver, perform clean boot first, then install the update for a test. If the issue occurs, check if you can boot into Safe Mode by keeping pressing F8 when restarting.
