Upgrade from XP to Win 7 - Win 7 cant find hard drive to install to
Hello- This is my first post in any of these forums, so if my question has been already answered, i apologize. i have a Toshiba laptop with XP Media Center factory installed, and want to upgrade to win7 pro. The problem is that Win7 cant find the hard drive in the Toshiba machine. Strangely, i can see the drive in the My Computer section, but if i look for it in disc management or device manager, it doesnt appear at all. in disc managerment, all i see is the D drive, but no C drive at all. any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. I should also add that XP wont even allow me to format the disc, so i cant even wipe it clean and start over. thanks.

Hi, I would like to know how you installed the Windows 7? Boot from DVD directly? Does the C drive appear in BIOS? Before installing Windows 7, I suggest contacting XP forum or manufacture to fix the hard drive issue first. If you didn't install Windows 7 from installation disc directly, please set boot from DVD in BIOS and inset the disc to start the installation process.
