Uploading Files kills network
Hi,Wife was complaining about loosing network connectivity. Watched her as she was uploading pictures and noticed the "!" over the network systray icon. Used the troubleshooter to reset the connection and had her try again... same thing. Started troubleshooting my self and ran simple speed tests, downloads work like a champ, but uploads kill the network... but it is recoverable. This just started a couple of days ago, been running fine since.Below are some configuration items.OS NameMicrosoft Windows 7 UltimateVersion6.1.7100 Build 7100Other OS Description Not AvailableOS ManufacturerMicrosoft CorporationSystem NameGAMERSystem ManufacturerSystem manufacturerSystem ModelP5KSystem TypeX86-based PCProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz, 2664 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)BIOS Version/DateAmerican Megatrends Inc. 0704, 10/30/2007SMBIOS Version2.4Windows DirectoryC:\WindowsSystem DirectoryC:\Windows\system32Boot Device\Device\HarddiskVolume1LocaleUnited StatesHardware Abstraction LayerVersion = "6.1.7100.0"User Namegamer\RolandTime ZoneEastern Daylight TimeInstalled Physical Memory (RAM)4.00 GBTotal Physical Memory3.25 GBAvailable Physical Memory2.05 GBTotal Virtual Memory6.50 GBAvailable Virtual Memory5.09 GBPage File Space3.25 GBPage FileC:\pagefile.sysIRQ 17Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T ControllerAny help would be appreciated. Thanks,Roland

If using IE to upload files, would suggest trying the same with some other browser i.e. Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome...

Hi Roland, I suggest that you reset IE settings to default. 1. Click Start, please type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search bar and press Enter to open the Internet options window.2. Switch to the Advanced tab.3. Click the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" button.4. Click Reset to confirm the operation.5. Click Close when the resetting process has finished.6. Uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option in the Settings box.7. Click Apply, click OK.If the issue still occurs, I suspect that your anti-virus or firewall prevents the file uploading and close the port for the Internet connection. I suggest that you temporary disable or remove the security programs, and then check the result. If the issue persists, I suggest that you try to roll back the network adapter driver is if it possible. How to Roll Back a Device Driver If the issue still occurs, please capture a network trace when the issue occurs, and upload it in Skydrive of your Live Space from another computer. The solution is to turn "task offloading" off for your network card. read here: http://www.baba.se/2010/11/in-windows-7-https-uploads-stop-network.html
