User Credentials Corrupt (sam file?)
I would try those steps, but I cannot even get into Windows beyond the login screen because the only user account has lost the password (corrupt sam file is my guess). If I deleted the sam file something like BackTrack, would Windows repair allow the file to be restored and let me create a new user account?

After uninstalling Kaspersky AV on a machine running Windows 7 Ultimate, I have lost the ability to log in as the only existing user account. When the password is typed in, the machine says the password is incorrect. When doing a net user command in the command promt, the account no longer shows up at all under "Administrator" or "Guest" accounts. I have tried creating a new user (net user "newaccount" 123 /add) and given them administrator priveledges, as well as making sure the Administrator account is set to be enabled. It tells me the operation was completed succesfully, but when starting in regular or safe mode, I still only get the option to log in as the old user name (which no longer recognizes the password it was created with), and cannot switch users to the new account I created. I have also tried resetting the password using the net user administrator * command. Password is successfully reset, but the Administrator user is not an option to log in as. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck locked out of Windows all together on this machine. Thanks,

Hi, Have you tested enable the build-in Administrator account? For reference: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/Kim Zhou TechNet Community Support
