I have RC1 on a desktop and a laptop. the logon screen on my desktop starts with my user name icon/picture and the password box open with the curser ready to type. On the laptop the logon sreen starts with my user name icon/picture but says locked under it. I have click my user name to get to the passwod entry box. I know its only 1 click but I would prefer to be able to just start typing my pass word when I log on. I am the only user on both machines. Ive tried to search this question with no luck. Thank you for any advise you can throw my way.

Try the following twice, i.e. remove the tick then replace the tick. You will have to restart the computer between the changes. Click the Windows Orb (Start), type netplwiz and press Enter. Remove the tick from Users must enter a username and password > OK.

Thanks but no luck. I have also tried the same in "control userpasswords2".

In the one that says locked: in control Panel / User Accounts - do "remove your password". Hope that helps.
