Using the Windows 7 RC Backup - Fails
I try to use the backup as Windows7 RC (Build 7100) asks but the backup fails. I have the backup set to copy onto my G:\ drive and when the backup tries to run I get the Floppy Drive clucking away and then the failure (unsuccessful)message. Floppy is shown as A:\ as you might expect when I check with Windows Explorer. I ran a check on the G:\ drive and all was OK.Please adviseBest regardsRobert_T

Hi Robert,Does your floppy has enuff space for that back up (Around 136mb)?if so have you checked GPO settings if that is restricted to copy into it?would you happen to have added a registry key in currentcontrolset/control/storagedevicepolicies/writeprotect ("1")?Regards,RR

Hi RR,No the floppy is the old 1.44Mb floppy disc in a plastic case with a sliding metal forming to protect the floppy when not in the machine. I might be using Windows 7 now, but like the old broom that had 12 new heads and 4 new handles, this machine "started" 12 years ago with Windows 95 and enjoyed its latest incarnation last year.Like said all the indications are that the backup will be run on a different internal drive, as is suggested, but somehow something goes wrong.Best regardsRobert_T

LOL i feel humiliated hahahah that was funny btw, when i asked about space i was not referring to the old garbage lmao i meant if you didnt fill the whole space?in my case for example my usb stick as only 510mb available all 16gb is filled PS: no ofenses anymore oka?haha jksi confused while writing so it sounded i mentioned the Floppy disk but if i got the point when you try to save in G: for example the system undertstands as if you were trying to save in the old A:?isnt your backup ,media full so the system is redirecting to somewhere else to find a room?(makes no sense for win7 but its not much to ask)Kind regards,RR"TYPO"
