VPN network connectivity issue.
So, I have a home network behind a router, that connects 2 windows 7 pc's together. I'm using a default router service to allow one of the computers to function as a vpn server. I've set up the VPN server the standard way: Network & sharing > change adapter settings > new incomming > follow prompts. On a few laptops I've setup the windows 7 VPN clients the standard way: Network & sharing > new connection > vpn > etc... The VPN Connects! Huzzah, however, I do not have access to anything on the server's network. What is the point of that? I checked the VPN's status and there is no ipv4 or ipv6 connectivity, but somehow it's classed as connected amidoinitrite?

Hello, When you establish the VPN conenction to your home, you need to be on a different subnet. For example, if your home subnet is 192.168.1.0 and your remote conenction addres subnet is 192.168.1.0, then the VPN may not work correctly because there will be two gateways with the same address and the routing will not function properly. 1. Does your IPCONFIG show the VPN adapter to have an IP address in the same subnet as your home network? What is the VPN IP address? Did you specify a pool of addresses to lease the VPN clients that are on the same subnet as your home network? 2. Is your foreign network (where are you connecting from), in a different subnet? 3. Can you ping any devices (the default gateway or the VPN server) on your home network. 4. Can you ping addresses on the Internet (like microsoft.com) when connected to the VPN?
