Variation on Offline Files/Folders problem
We have a single user now that has a laptop and required offline files. They are now on Windows 7 Pro (previously everything worked fine under XP). Their redirected folders are available offline with no problems. However, this user notified me a week or so ago that she was no longer available to add additional offline folders. Essentially when selecting Always Available Offline, nothing happens. At that time I could not find anything wrong and no reason for it. Eventually I deleted her local profile and things appeared to be ok. She has now reported the same problem again. This time I have tried re-initialising the Offline Files database. Increasing disk usage space. Nothing helps. I've refrained from deleting her profile again as that is really a last resort. So, what else could be preventing the selection of Always available offline from working? Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, This can be caused by logging with the cached profile who may not be able to access cached profile resources. If it is the case, you should delete the cached profile and configure the permissions to the assigned user: 1) Log on as a user who has administrator credentials to the local computer that you want to share. 2) Right-click the shared folder and then click Properties. 3) Click the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing. Check Share this folder box. 4) Click Permissions button, Click Add. 5) High light the account which you want to share this folder to (Account name which will access the folder), then check the Allow box for Full control. 6) If the account name is not list, please click Add button. Type Everyone and click OK. 7) Click Everyone in the user list, and check the Allow box for Full Control in the "Permissions for Everyone" pane and click Apply, click OK. Dale
