Virus Trojan26.BVV
I am running Windows Vista 32 and Previous to downloading Microsoft Security Essentials, I was using AVG (free) and it picked up that I had the above virus (Trojan26.BVV) but it could not clear it off my computer so I decided to down load Microsofts virus protection, however, since downloading Microsoft Security Essentials and running your scan on my computer it has not highlighted that I still have this virus (Trojan26.BVV) does this mean it is now clear of my computer and is there anyway I can check to put my mind at rest. Also it appears that my firewall has disappeared can you help me with restoring that back too. Your early reply would be very much appreciated regards John Youde

Hi, 1. You may contact the AVG support to see if they have special update or tools to scan and complete remove the virus. 2. Actually, the officially recommended method is still to format and re-install the compromised computer from a known good build (i.e. operating system CD + all security patches while disconnected from the network).
