Vista/Server 2008 Slow Domain Logon
I'm not sure what might have happened to these systems. I'm starting to think it was a windows update or just group policy isn't playing nice with something. Earlier today one of our users that has a vista laptop can't login anymore it just hangs saying welcome and never errors out. I have tried to disable all the startup programs and all services not by microsoft with no luck. Safe mode with networking works perfectly and while in this mode I can do a domain login without any problems. I just installed some updates to the server 2008 machine and now it hangs on logon at Applying Group Policy printers policy. The only thing I've done in the past couple weeks is I'm deploying a printer through preferences in a GPO instead of deploying it through printer management but the Windows 7 and Windows XP machines seem to have no issues. Has anyone seen this before? I can't think of what could be causing other than the group policy preference I set or a windows update. I would hope if it was the GPO that it would at least time out so the user gets logged in. Any help would be great!
