Vista SP1 - slow connection to win2k3 share
Hi,I have been struggling with a network problem for several weeks now There is a Vista 32bit Business (SP1) client and Windows 2003 server which has file shares.Copying files is quite fast until I open my Visual Studio project that has references to the Win2k3 share - it is about 50-60 assemblies. After opening the project, when everything is loaded, all starts working terribly slow. Copying files from and to the share is about 150 KB/s I tried everything that I have found on the net (setting tcp autotuning, compatibility of SMB...), nothing helped. Can somebody have an idea how to fix it? I can add that on the WinXP clients a problem does not occur.

Hi, I have the following suggestion for you: Suggestion: Add the CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo registry entry ============================================== 1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. 2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4. Type CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo to name the new entry, and then press ENTER. 5. Right-click CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo, and then click Modify. 6. In the Value data box, type 1 , and then click OK. 7. Exit Registry Editor and restart computer to test this issue. In addition, hope the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article can help you. A Windows Server 2003-based computer responds slowly to RDP connections or to SMB connections that are made from a Windows Vista-based computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947773 Thanks.

Sorry, but your tips did not help. The problem still occurs.
