Vista Ultimate Network File Shares Slow Speed / High Ping
When transferring files over the network, pingtimes to the computers spike to 600ms + and the transfer speed is stuck at around 55kb/s . Normal Internet Traffic is Unaffected. JUST the files copied to and from windows file shares cause this behavior.I have tried all the fixes related to the built in throttling and nothing has worked. Nothing was installed to cause this all i did was reboot the computer and the shares started failing. I am on SP1 now but that didnt make a difference. it was doing it before that installed as well. i am an advanced user by all means. any insight on this would be much appreciated.

Hi,
I have the following suggestions for you.
Suggestion 1: Add the CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo registry entry
==============================================
1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo to name the new entry, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click CopyFileBufferedSynchronousIo, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1 , and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor and restart computer to test this issue.
Suggestion 2: Disable Receive Window Auto-Tuning
=========================================
1.Open up an elevated command prompt.
2.Enter the following command to disable auto-tuning
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
3.Reboot the computer to test this issue again.
If you found that this doesnt fix your problem, you can turn it back on.
1.Open up an elevated command prompt.
2.Enter the following command to enable auto-tuning
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
