Vista vs win 7 search
My biggest problem with Vista is the search. -- it is the pits. Is Windows 7 going to fix the search problem? If not, I don't want to know anymore about it.

Personally, I find the Search in 7 terrific. Takes a lot less digging before it will find things. I notice it does a lot better than Vista. Can get requested items on Stat Menue, that before had to > Computer 1st & then start searching. The current Search of Win7 is one of its outstanding Features. I guess it could be said, if viewed as a "problem", it has been fixed. Enjoy...Drew - MS Partner / MS Beta Tester / Pres. Computer Issues

Want a way to find things instantly? There's a program you can get from the web called"Search Everything" which is free and has no adware. It usualy finds whatever you type in a split second. Occasionally it won't find a file that the system search would so this is good to use in addition but not as areplacment for windows search.

In vista i can make a shortcut to search put it on the desktop open it and customize my search but now with 7 if I use the same shortcut it gives my a large window withonly a text entry box and nothing for me to configure - overly simplified.
