I run Vista Home Premium and ever since i got it, i have had trouble connecting to the internet. I have to restart my ADSL modem every time i start windows. But i have Windows 7 RC and the internet works perfectly on it. I have the same drivers for Vista and 7. My network card is a UlI integrated ethernet. The drivers are WHQL signed.

I have also had the same issues on some of the laptop I have worked on with Vista. I install Mozilla Firefox and it works fine. As far as the IE issues, we never did figure it out. My only suggestion is the make sure your Vista computer is fully patched. And maybe try to install IE 8. Maybe it will work better. But if you want something that works, use Firefox! Heather Watson

Did you try "Diagnose Network connection problems" in IE under "Tools". Try it once and see what you get and please do post back...

Hi, May I know if the following first: 1. Will it work after restarting the ADSL modem? 2. What is the exact issue, you just cannot visit websites with your browser or all the network applications fail to access Internet? Meanwhile, please try the following to narrow down the issue: 1. If there is a router between the computer and ADSL modem, please bypass the router and connect to the ADSL modem directly to see how it works. If you have other computers on the same network, can they connect Internet? 2. Please check if you can ping some websites or some known IP Address to see if there are any responses. 3. Boot Windows Vista to Safe Mode with networking and see if the issue is gone. 4. Please remove and reinstall your network devices drivers to see if it works. If there is a new version of driver, please also try it to see how it works. If the issue persists, please run CMD and then ipconfig/all on the problematic computer when the issue occurs and post the result to the thread for our further research. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
