Sorry if this isn't the right forum to put this question on. I could not find one that said Visual Studio.
I currently use 2013 Express, but I saw in the description of the Community version:"Visual Studio Community 2013 includes all the great functionality of Visual Studio Professional 2013, designed and optimized for individual developers, students, open source contributors, and small teams."
Which would be really good because I am in individual developer, and I also think (for some weird reason) that it might be better to be using the professional version, especially if I want to somehow make money off what I make.
So here are some equestrians I have about the community version of the Visual Studio.
1. Can I port my original C# source code into the community version?
2. It states: "to create their own free or paid apps". That leads me to believe this software can only be used to code Windows 8.1 'APPS' or Windows Phone 'APPS', but I develop for the desktop environment. Would this software still be of use to me?
3. What are the advantages of getting the paid professional version if I am an individual developer and I can use the community version to make software I am able to monetize?
I asked this before on another forum and they directed me here.
