W7 and file-sharing programs
Since installing W7 yesterday, I am unable to get the file-sharing program I use to work properly. I use uTorrent to download .flac-files, but when I attempt to download a new torrent, I get the error message, "The system cannot find the file specified," and the downloading stops. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

Is anything able to be downloaded using that application or is just those specific flac files. Is it possible the seeder is no longer seeding them?Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

I'm not able to download anything using uTorrent. It'll start, and then I get the above error message. In some cases, I am the seeder, in others, the leecher, but all seeds are active.

Are all firewall ports open? Windows 7 has outgoing filtering now. You could try to run the application in Windows XP compatibility mode. Right click, go to properties, click on the compatibility tab. Change it to run as Windows XP.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Thanks for the suggestion, Mark, but I'm afraid that didn't work.

Hi,Did you upgrade win7 from vista or clean install?"The system cannot find the file specified", the best way is to reinstall your application or contact uTorrent support for direct assistance.

Hi,I have searched some websites, here is the summary of possible solutions:1. Clear internet temp files.C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files2.check that you dont have a very long filename, some programs can not handle more than 256 characters in the path (C:\Downloads\etc...).3. Set default program for the .torrent file in Control Panel->Default Programs or Reinstall the software.
