W7 wireless network seen no connect
When I take my W7 laptop to the the local library and try to connect to the wireless network All around me are connected and my laptop will try to connect and then fail with no message. It does NOT tell me what the security type is or ask for a PASSKEY. So I boot up Ubuntu and connect (Et Voila) What happened to W7 ? How do I get it to ask for a passkey ?

Hi, It could be incorrect settings or driver for wireless. Therefore, I suggest updating the wireless adapter driver from the manufacture's manually, disabling IEEE 802.1x authentication of wireless adapter. a. Click Start -> type ncpa.cpl in the search box and then click OK. b. Right-click the Wireless network connections icon, and then select Properties. c. Click the Wireless Security tab, click 802.1X. d. Clear the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network check box. e. Click OK to update the settings.
