W8.1 Hyper can't create gen2 vm's

Hi @all,

OS Windows 8.1 inkl. Feature HyperV installed

HyperV Manager -> New Virtual Machine -> Gen2

See the end of this message for details on invoking

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

If PowerShell works I would not expect this to be a Hyper-V problem.

You mention that you get the error when using 'Assistant' - what is Assistant?  That is not the name of the 'Hyper-V Management Console'.

And your big error is here: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Are you logged in as the local 'Administrator' user or running the Hyper-V Management Console elevated?

Assistant is probably the term used for the "new virtual machine wizard". I remember Ben mentioning once that wizard wasn't used in certain languages due to the negative/evil connotations. I believe German was one of those languages.
