WDS Windows 8 error

We are running a WDS server on Server 2008R2 that I just recently uploaded a Windows 8 64bit image to.  When I try to deploy the image to the same computer, after Expanding Windows files and going to Installing features, I get a "Windows Installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.  Error Code: 0xC0000005."

We have been deploying Windows 7 64bit Ent successfully from the same WDS server.  The laptop was a clean install of Windows 8 with our standard office applications installed and was running just fine on the laptop.  I did the generalize option on the OOBE sysprep and did a capture to the local hard drive which was then copied to the WDS server.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm using 2008 R2 WDS to deploy my Windows 8 Enterprise images!  No problems for me.

Only x86 images so far BTW

You need a Windows 8 boot image on your WDS server.

Had your exact same issue, Windows 7 deployed just fine from our WDS box running Server 2012. Tried pushing a Windows 8 64 bit, and got as far as Installing Features, and immediately got: "Windows Installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.  Error Code: 0xC0000005."

Pulled boot.wim from \sources on the Windows 8 ISO, uploaded to server, (don't forget to inject NIC drivers) and it it worked like a charm.

Yep - I confirm not having an 8.x boot image causes this problem. I Uploaded a 32-bit boot.wim from a Windows 8.1 disk to WDS, and I can push out 32bit/64bit Windows 8.x from my 2008R2 WDS server.

Hello,

I've tried the above, and added the W8.1 boot.wim to my existing 2012 R2 WDS server.  However this somehow corrupts/destroys my capture image and makes it impossible to boot to, to capture images.  Anyone have any idea on why this would be occurring?  My previous boot and capture files were created from Windows 7sp1 x64 install media.

It works fine with the proper boot image.  This is not the answer.
