Hi, Let's focus on the issue. What you mean of deleting the hard drive? If you don't delete it, what would happen? How did you install Windows 7 and What is the computer model? What is the error you received? I suggest updating the device driver from manufacture's site and check disk. Open an elevated command and type chkdsk /f /r command.
