WIRELESS KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ISSUES
HP Pavilion Slimline s3707 Refurbished4 GB RAM500 GB HDDVista Home Premium 64-BitnVidia GEForce 9100VideoThis system is not one year old, having been purchased refurbished from MicroCenter, yet just recently have had to try 3 different mfrs wireless keyboard/mouse installations (Logitech-HP-Microsoft) because either the mouse or the keyboard or both will stop operating if I step away from the system for ten or more minutes and I then have to reboot to clear the problem.I'm submitting in this forum on the outside chance that some virus has crept in to cause this problem. This has happened out of nowhere after perfect operation of the Logitech duo for almost 8 months became a problem. The replacement tandems from first HP and then Microsoft have had the same results. I uninstalled a D-Link Wireless N Router thinking that signals from it might be interfering with same from the mouse/kybd setups, but the problem continues with no router in place! My only other idea is perhaps some corruption that might show up in Device Manager, but there are no yellow or red marks in that. What could be wrong? BTW, I will often hear the sound made by a USB device being plugged/unplugged when I'm not even at the computer -- can this be indicative of something?THANKS...very frustrated.sbuxman
