WIndows 7 & PDF
My Windows 7 64 and 32 bit machines will not download a PDF file. All I get is a white page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Im guessin your using adobe to open them? Have you tried to upgrade this to the latest version? When you say it won't download a pdf file. What do you mean? You right click on the file and say download ? Or do you just click on the file and it doesn't open in the browser?

Since you mentioned "download", I'm assuming that you're unable to open a PDF in the browser. This just means that the Adobe PDF plug-in for your browser is not working correctly. In that case download a Adobe PDF plugin for your browser and try again. Alternatively, you can also right click on the link and select "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." to download it to your computer and then you can open this using Adobe Reader (it needs to be installed on your system). Please revert back here if this does not resolve your issue. Hope it helps!Kunal D Mehta - a Windows Server Enthusiast.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files, do the following: Quit Internet Explorer. [1] Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader. [2] Choose Edit > Preferences. [3] Select Internet in the list on the left. [4] Deselect Display PDF in Browser, and click OK. [5] Restart IE. Note: The next time you select a link to a PDF file, the browser may prompt you to open or save the file. If you choose to open the file, the browser opens the file in the helper application that you specified. If you choose to save the file, the browser downloads the file to the hard disk. This should help fix your problem. Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Thanks guys for your fast and guru answers. After reading your replies I remembered an Adobe Reader upgrade not to long ago on this machine. Never thought much about it until when I tried to open some pdf files for a web site I'm upgrading for a client and then reading your suggestions. I had the same upgrade on other machines too but this is the only one that boinked out on me. So, I went to Adobe and downloaded the upgrade again and installed it and everything is all well again now The only thing I can think is maybe the last upgrade was corrupt on that one particular machine and didn't do a good install. I've made a copy of all your replies and have put them in my workbook I call my crash and repair book. Once again I thank you for your fast responses, advice and super fixes.
