WIndows 7 will not connect to the Windows 2000 server
Windows 7 connects to everything Ive throw at it (NAS drives Macs' etc) but it wont connect to the old windows 2000 advanced server we have. Entering a valid password and username always returns "permission denied". Ive been googling for about 6 hours and my eyes are now bleeding. Ive changed the "LM & NTLM responses on server" as per other threads to no avail.

re the computers in a domain which is controlled by the Windows 2000 server, or it is just a home network? If it is domain, you may need to check related policies. However, if the computers are not in domain, please change the authentication level in Windows 7 RC system to make it the same as in Windows 2000. Windows 7 RC systems use a higher level authentication, and the level may be not recognized by Windows 2000. If we change the level in Windows 2000 there would be no effect.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Its now fixed. The windows 2000 server has never had a service pack installed since it was put in. Installed SP4 and its now allowing windows 7 to connect.
