WMIC
I am trying to use the command: wmic path WIN32_USERACCOUNT where(name="lord") set PasswordExpiries="false" to turn of fthe password expiries. I ran the command and it comes back with Error Description = not found. I tried removing the description and it still comes back with the same error. I tried it on a Windows 7 Ultimate computer and it works fine, but on my Windows 7 Pro computers. All the computers are x64. Does anyone have any idea on why I am getting this error or if there is another command I can use to turn off the password expiries. I have maybe 100 computers I need to run this on for 2 user accounts.

Will this command work when all of the computers are on a Domain with a GPO that sets the max password time to 90 days? That is why I thought I needed to use the wmic commands.

Hi spazzzen, The command won’t work if there’s the domain group policy restrict. You can make the 2 user in a separate OU and apply the different group plicy. ok, so is there a way to fix these local accounts then? Both accounts are local, not domain accounts.

The domain group policy restricts the domain user, not the local user. Logon the computer as local administrator then run the command for these local accounts. Ok, so just to make sure I understand this. Running net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited on all my broken computers, will fix the local accounts from expiring because it only effects the local accounts while the domain accounts will still have to follow the group policy, correct?
