WMP 12 NTLM Proxy authentication problem with SQUID
Hi All,
I have a Squid proxy where I have NTLM authentication set up which works perfectly with IE or even FF.
I recently ran into a problem where users are not able to see a video (http://web.servicebureau.net/conf/meta?i=1113301587&c=2343&m=was&u=/w_ccbn.xsl&date_ticker=FRX)
because WMP pops up authentication window asking username and password.
I tried to apply KB2515525 on the machine but it didn't solve the problem. I also tried to set the netbios name or the proxy (proxy instead of proxy.something.com) as suggested on some site without success. I can see that HTTP407 is being sent to the
client (WMP) but it doesn't authenticate itself automatically.
Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue permanently without bypassing the proxy authentication for WMP?
I have IE 8.0.7600.16385 and WMP 12.0.7600.16667
Thanks in advance,
cU

Hi,
Have you configure the proxy settings in Windows Media Player?
