Want to create an alert in WIndwos 7 Task Scheduler
HiI want to create an alert in Windows 7 Task Scheduler so that every time someone connects to my PC a message is displayed. I've started up the Net Logon log but obviously this only shows me the initial log-on when their user account is authenticated. I've tried having a play with the triggers but I can't seem to get this right, does anyone know if this is possible? The resoning behind this request is that I work in IT and have found recently that settings have been changed by other people carrying out 'network tests'. I understand the need to do these test within IT, but I would like to know the frequency of this and also who it is. At least if I know when this happens I can see who has connected at that point and save the data from the Net Logon log. Thank you!

Yes, you can save the data. When you enable auditing (you can do this using the Local Security Policy on the workstation). Check out This link to get a good explanation on the available settings. Regards,Stefan Hazenbroek

Hi Stefan That's great, thank you! However, one more thing, where is this logged? I can't find a reference to where the log is created in the information. Or is it created on the DC and if so where would this be? Kind regards Julie

Hi Julie,I'm sorry for the late reply. When using the Local Security Policy the information will be logged on the local server in the Security eventlog. When you open up the Event Viewer and choose "Security", you'll find the logs.Regards,Stefan Hazenbroek
