Weird message at the bottom right corner of my desktop
This is what it says: Windows 7 Build 7600 This copy of Windows is not genuine I bought it from Staples and installed it on a Mac mini using Bootcamp with no trouble a month ago. Wtf?

Ok, got an activation message, clicked activate and now the "not genuine" message is gone. But I really don't appreciate being scared like that...I already activated the software when I purchased it. I don't want to have to activate it again. That's BS. I payed for the software! I want to be able to use it without having to jump through unexpected hoops! You mean to tell me if for some reason that doesn't get activated I could lose access to using software I paid for? As a buyer of your product. I don't like this. Think of some other way to protect your products. I don't like being bothered when I have to use my computer.

Did you buy the upgrade or full version? If you bought the upgrade, then this occurs, or you didn't input the key after the install and activated it. More details please. Since I posted, I see you had already updated. So disregard my comments. Since windows 7 doesnt require a key it doesn't activate on install. Usually throughout the course of updates it will be come activated. Fortunatley this a one time thing to help protect pirated software.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com
