What antivirus do I have to use for win 7 7100 x64 RC ???
When I was tryingwin7 7000 used Kaspersky Internet security 2009with same licence I was using in Winxp and no problems found. Now I'm trying Win 7 7100 x64 RC, I installed same antivirus and system says that antivirus is not compatible.Win 7 showed me a site with compatible antivirus. I tried again Kaspersky antivirus for win7 beta (license 6 months) installed and PC crashed all times, then I tried AVG for win7 beta and system crashed (license for 3 months), now I'm trying Trend micro for win 7 beta (license for 1 month) and don't know if it will function ok. Questions: What antivirushas been tested succesfullyfor win 7 7100 x64 RC? and If exist any antivirus which one offer longer time for testing??? I don't want to think I have to buy an antiviruslicense for a system which is in beta phase

Hi Miquex,I have been using AVG 8.5 Free edition (free.avg.com) and it generally works OK. However, the Security Center reports thatAVG is reporting to it in a format that is no longer supported.I guess that an update for this will be released soon. The anti-virus side of it works fine, though. However, there are several other products discussed that are all apparently working properly.Paul S AdamsSenior Software EngineerRomteck Pty Ltd

If u have a license go for Nod32 4.0 along with Malware Bytes if you want to go with free then go for Avast Home. I have tested most of the antiviruses...Recommended ones are these...You can go for Kaspersky too paid BTW.

Hi,nod32 v4 64bit works great on my W7 x64 installation, but has one problem with Windows backup: Backup fails when nod32 real time scanner is activated. Besides that - no problem. It is not for free, though.Bye.Michael.

Obviously Ivisited the URL you sent before I posted this question..... I wrote Kaspersky for Win7 nor AVG for win 7 worked, apparently Trend Micro is working until now, but license is for 1 month, I wont pay an antivirus license for win7 RC, I paid a license for Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 for Win XP and I wont pay again until official Win7 release is done, meanwhile is complicated browsing without an antivirus.According my experience Norton and Panda are not good antivirus... McAfee site didn't offer a downloadable option, very bad site.Kaspersky, via John Avendano, answered just stupid things. I never heard before about F-secure, is dependable antivirus???... when Trend micro fails or license ends. Thanks anyway

Hi,You could try Avast Home Edition. It's free and ,though not on the http://www.microsoft.com/windows/antivirus-partners/windows-7.aspxpage, it works very nicely. No hickups while doing backups either. RegardsRem
