When XP starts up get message that file xyv.exe cannot be found.
QUESTIONS OR COMMENTSMessage: When XP starts up, I get a message that file C:\Documents and Settings\user\eyv.exe cannot be found. I cannot find what program is calling this file. A computer search found the following statements in file named setupapi.txt under C;|windows.2011/01/03 08:11:30 1464.596]#-199 Executing "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe" with command line: explorer.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\User\eyv.exe"#W383 "certclas.PNF" migrate: PNF Language = 0409, Thread = 1c09.[2011/01/03 10:44:54 1480.923]#-199 Executing "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe" with command line: explorer.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\User\eyv.exe"#W383 "FONT.PNF" migrate: PNF Language = 0409, Thread = 1c09.It appears that explorer is looking for info on start up.

Messages such as the one you have typically arise when your antivirus or other anti-malware application has partially removed the malware but has left in place the piece that calls the main malware.You may be able to find what is attempting to start eyv.exe at logon by using Autoruns .
