When connect usb drive first time, appear several times a dinotify error message
Hello, I'm using a Windows 7 enterprise SP1 Spanish x 64bits. When I connect the first time a USB external drive such as pen drive, external disc, etc, appear several times a error message "Windows no puede encontrar el archivo "C:\Windows\system32\dinotify.ec". Asegurese de que el nombre esté escrito correctamente e intentelo de nuevo", but the usb device open anyway. The file already exits on the path. I've tried to check errors with scf/ scannow and downloading the latest upgrades but the problem remains. This error message appear even if a logon with "administrator" user. Thank ypu for your help. It suppost to be dinotify.exe instead of dinotify.ec. Showing error on the .ec would suggest Virus. .ec is not a format file for Windows\System32 you could normally find. I would suggest to scan by any antivirus software the UBS drive and the local drive as well. BartBart Kurowski IT Desktop Support Analyst, MCP, MCTS, MCITP, MCAS

to be honest; dinotify.exe is quite unusuall error to receive. I would suggest: 1. Install SP1 - check if it does help 2. Is the Windows ver licenced properly? I am not saying you; but in internet are a lot of version of 7 to download with tweaked system files. 3. You can also disable Windows error notification from Control Panel - Action Panel BartBart Kurowski IT Desktop Support Analyst, MCP, MCTS, MCITP, MCAS

Thank you Bart for your suggestions, but: 1. The SP1 is already installed. 2. About second option, I'm completly agree with you and you're right, but this is an original source. 3. and disable error notification could help for don't see this error, but don't fix it neither, nevertheless could be a problem for other possible future errors. I've tried with repairing option on setup DVD. Nothing. The last option I think, it's wipe and re-install the OS, but I don't believe that it's a solution. Any Idea.... Regards.
