When iPhone or iPad connects to VPN server it can access the VPN local network but not the rest of the internet
I've got Windows 7 Pro configured with an incoming VPN connection so I can access files on the office LAN from my iPhone or iPad. Everything works great for that (I can connect and reach any device on the office LAN including the VPN server's shares, office cameras, FTP servers, etc. perfectly.) Only problem is that I can't reach the internet (google.com, amazon.com, etc.) from the devices connected to the VPN. Same device connected to the LAN directly has the world at it's finger tips and all the servers on the LAN. VPN Server ipconfig /all below I've Google'd my fingers raw with no luck. Any ideas how I get this issue fixed? Thanks in advance! Hi, This is the VPN security reason. When you use the VPN, your default gateway on remote network would change. Thats why you cant not connect to internet. In Windows VPN client, you can uncheck Use default gateway on remote network option to avoid this issue happen. But this operation would reduce the security of VPN. This option can be found at VPN Connection Properties>Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)>Advanced>IP setting. I am not sure how to set this option in IPhone or IPAD, you should contact Apple Tech for help. Also some security methods such like set up a Proxy Server in your VPN Server. You can connect to internet by the Proxy server after you connect to the VPN Server.Spencer TechNet Community Support
