I have personally used both, at different times and on different computers, to pretty much save the computer in question. I answer on a lot of different malware forums and can show an abundance of log files where each have detected malware the other missed. When servicing infected machines I generally run both (along with other tools). MBAM is MUCH faster than SAS, and I believe it to be a bit more effective especially against the widespread hoax anti-malware infections.
