Why are my saved passwords disappearing?
For some reason W7 has started to sign me out of programmes (google, MSN etc) and deleting the "remember me" info. I thought that it was Advanced Windows Care or One Click Cleanup up doing this but I have removed these programs and it still occurs. It cleans out my passwords daily. Any ideas on why? I have a program Advanced Windows Care which as part of its funtions removes junk files, spyware and cookies. To avoid deleting files I want to keep (automatic log-ins, passwoeds etc) you can select which files not to delete. This has worked fine for some years. When I found my pc was suddenly deleting all these files I deleted this program in case it was causing it. However this did not stop the files being deleted. For example, i keep myself signed in to iGoogle but I find myself signed out. Websites I use a lot and have "remember me" options forget who I am and so on.I have looked in the event logs and do not know what is causing it. I Have run on line virus checkers and a number of diferent malware and spyware detection and removal programs but nothing shows..And my computer's date is correct.BTW, it is not just one site affected but every one on my pc that saves information.

I suspect some of the "automatic cleanup" software is still around and running. It's usually best to do your own maintenance, rather than use these automatic tools. What I would suggest is using the Autoruns program to detail what software is starting up when you boot your system. The program can be found here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspxThe list of programs that start when you boot up (Boot Execute tab) or log on (Logon) can be large, but you should go through it and understand what each and every program is doing. If you see one you don't believe should be running (e.g., a remnant of one of the automatic cleaners), disable it and see if the problem is solved. Also, it would be a good idea to check your scheduled tasks to see if something's running that is doing this cleanup:1. Click the Start orb.2. Type sched into the search box.3. When Task Scheduler comes up, click it.4. Is anything shown in the top pane?5. If you expand the Task Scheduler Library heading on the left side, and expand and click on subsequent headings, do you find something scheduled that could be doing this unwanted cleanup?-Noel
