WiFi credential type does not match what Windows 8 is detecting

The tall and short is the WiFi router I'm trying to connect to is using WPA2-Personal yet Windows 8 keeps trying to connect as WEP

When I manually go into the connections and alter the settings I get a cross through the signal strength of the connection saying that "the saved configurations in the computer do not corrospond with what is required by the network", more or less - the UI is in Portuguese and that is a quick translation.

All updates have been installed and the system is 100% up to date.

Any insight into what is causing this would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan

OOPS! I forgot some info that might be useful.

I have a Mac Mini running OS X Mountain Lion as well as 2 Android phones connecting perfectly to the network. I have disconnected and reconnected them multiple times without a problem.

I have disabled and re-enabled the adapter in both System hardware and in the networking areas of Windows 8. This issue only started yesterday and until then I could connect without a problem.

Hi,

This issue usually occurs on wireless network connections. I suggest that you turn off any security feature of wireless. Please go to Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties. From there choose Wireless Networks, click on your wireless network name and choose properties. Under Network Authentication choose Open to turn off the wireless security. Please try to connect.

If it doesnt work, please try to delete the saved network profile, then connect to the wireless again.

In addition, you may try to reinstall wireless adapter's driver for a test.
