I have lots of events but dont know how to copy them all in a file here.I am not that good with computers. But have been able to do basic things by reading posts and applying instructions . I did a recent boot scan AVAST, which came clean, a check on system
files to verify only which was OK too by running a command I forgot on command prompt, a win7 re activation which is now ok, have a office pro plus which keeps asking me for reactivation and that is why I have been doing changes on task scheduller(there was
no task for win to activate so I created one), on component services under Admin I did some changes I can't remenber, and under computer management I also did things I cant remeber, On Firewall I allowed SPP and few other things cause I wanted Software security
platform allowed so it can reactivate office, and KMS too...sorrry I cant remenber all. I am just worried of so many errors on event log, also showing Port A is down event 83.
thank u IN ADVANCE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THE TIME.
THE LAPTOP BELONGS TO HOMEGROUP BUT theres one laptop connected and i am using thethering to connect to the net.

1. I am afraid that you have used cracked key for Sony Vaio, namely
H4JWX-WHKWT-VGV87-C7XPK-CGKHQ
For Windows 7 KMS activation use:
cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -skms kms.vc.server.com
cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ato
2. For Office 2010 activation
KMS:
c:
cd "c:\program files\microsoft office\office14"
cscript ospp.vbs /sethst:kms.server.com
cscript ospp.vbs /act
(For 64 bit Windows 7 use
cd "c:\program files (x86)\microsoft office\office14")
For activation with key
c:
cd \"Program Files"\"Microsoft Office"\Office14
cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
cscript ospp.vbs /act
pause
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX is correct key for Office
3. I recommend to roll back all changes, because of it it very difficult to do forensic analysis of your changes of configuration
4. Sometims clean install or recovery from image is faster that doing changes at random.
5. Do not forget to open path to KMS activation server by opening firewall port 1688.

hi milos,
thank u for the time u spent and ur advice. but i dont understand why u say it is a cracked key, the way i ended up resolving the reactivation of win 7 was by only doing a CHKDSK. It resolved itself after the chkdsk......
and thekey u say is a cracked one is the same one
u had advised me to use (on the other thread i posted) on the
10th april at 9.32 am ????
So could u kindly explain???

Hi Milos,
I would be gratefull if could reply whenever u have some time...I really dont understand the cracked key from Sony u said I should use.... and I thought it was not advisable to post the full KEY ?!

That Key is NOT a crack - it is the standard Sony OEM_SLP Key
What makes you think it's a cracked Key - apart from not understaning the Activation process?
There was NO mention of Office in the original post - in fact the indication is that Office isn't installed (unless it's Office 2010, which MGADiag can't see anyhow)
Since when has there been a KMS Key for Home premium?
Did you even read the original post and report?

Hi Noel,
He is not even replying since yesterday...and it was he himself who told me to use it...thanks to ur help I never followed his advice. after the chckdsk it resolved itself...anyway we shouldnt be posting full keys here isn't it? I am really concerned
what use people can have from the key and
all details I have been posting. cause i dont have much understanding of pc's. Just wondering how can one advise to use a key and than later say it is a cracked one...
Could u pls tell me how could i upload here all the event logs, step by step. I suspect all the event errors i am getting have to do with firewall settings and due to Group policy, and changes i did that i cant remember all.
The last error I am getting amongs lots of them, but this one is worrying me...

First the Keys thing.....
OEM_SLP Keys are pretty much public knowledge - In the case of the one on your machine EVERY machine that leaves SONY with Win7 Home Premium installed has that Key embedded.
All OEM_SLP Keys are plastered all over the internet - so a few being quoted in these forums won't 'count'. The same goes for the Client Volume KMS Keys - which MS itself quotes on varoius pages (and in fact, OEM_SLP Keys could be considered a subset
of the KMS License type)
The problem with quoting Keys comes when they are wither Retail, COA, or Volume MAK Keys. These Keys are specific to a particular machine, owner or company, and should not be quoted in their entirety. So long as you only quote the last three groups of characters
(and never the first two), that is sufficient for uniqueness, without being enough to give the full Key away, or make it easily discoverable by a hacker.
That is why the MGADiag tool always obscures the first two groups in the report. In the case of Volume license Keys, it actually obsures the first four groups for extra security.
There is nothing in the MGADiag report that can personally identify you, or lead to discovery of any sensitive information (such as the rest of the Key - although MS activation servers can track the Key history with the data).
These forums do not allow the attachment of files.
What you can do is upload the files to your Skydrive (you have one automatically if you have windows Live Essentials) or other favoured fileshare site, and then post a link in the thread. If you use SkyDrive, make sure that you put the files in your
Public folder, otherwise they are private to you.
Group Policy cannot affect you normally - it is only applicable to Pro and above - because it it a means for System Admins in Domain networks to administer a potentially huge number of machines in a common and reproducible way. I believe that It's theoretically
possible for malware to create GPO's (Group Policy Objects) in Home Premium - but it's so rare that it can almost be ignored. What is many times easier is simply to screw with individual permissions as the malware needs to do what it wants.
Firewall settings are always a pain - which is why I like Windows Firewall, as it generally takes no looking after at all. You can reset that to default with a few click on a mouse, and then rebuild necessary permissions pretty much on the fly - or you can
do things the hard way.
You're in the right forum for advice on that - although you may be better off in the Windows Answers forums than the ITPro ones, since you are a home user with Home Premium, rather than a Domain client/admin.
You can find the Answers Security forum here......

Hi Noel,
Thank u for ur advice. But I would rather if u could have a look at the event log whenever u have some time...maybe tomorrow sometime...just let me know what time. as u can see from the replies i have got from Milos, it just makes me become suspicious
of people, dont know if and when I should rely on which replies...looks to me like some people dont know what they are saying...the same happened with the replies i got fr Mohammed on the other thread...so ....if u have some time let me know when. I will have
a look at the other forum but just to check any errors match the ones i am getting. I will try and see if i know how to save the full event log on a file and upload to skydrive.(i got win essentials)

Ok - I got it :)
A very quick glance shows a couple of things of note
1) You have some dubious software installed (BearShare/MediaBar) that is causing problems
2) You have a large number of entries caused by a Software Restriction Policy - and I have no idea what that is :)
I woudl suggest first running a full scan with updated anti-virus, and with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware free version (www.malwarebytes.org)
See what that finds.Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi |

i will download the malawarebytes now...I did Run a Boot scan day before yesterday but i will do a full scan now...not a boot one. the boot scan came clean from avast. I did disable windows defender few moths ago...i had updates and after those updates i
cant remeber what exactly happened but it gave me a real headache...so after i realized what updates were i unistalled the updates ...and also disabled the automatic updates from windows update totally.no updates are installed unless i read what it is about
and if it is of moderate level applicable to my version than i install.
I guess it will take some time to do both scans, fr avast and after i download malawarebytes...the scan fr it.guess i will see u tomorrow?around what time?

The other thing I see lots of entries for is problems with a WidCom Bluetooth driver.
You have to be careful with such drivers - there's a well-known bug in one particular set that wipes the hard drive if you uninstall it (how that one got through QC/Beta testing I have no idea!), although that is from a different manufacturer (I think!
- many are 're-badged').
Please check your system specs and your device manager for mismatches and errors.

Check in MSINFO32 for 'forced hardware' - is anything listed there?
Check in Device manager for entries with Yellow triangles or Red crosses - quote the details on them.
The latest drivers for your Bluetooth seem to be here
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGN-NW26M/downloads/Preinstalled_Drivers_4464
(why do all manufacturers have such abysmal support search capability?)
You should also thing about the Visual C++ download linked in the article I posted earlier.

Hi Noel,
How do i get to : MSINFO32??
when i type Device manager on start up and click on DeviceManager gives me a list of things the compuetr has but theres no entries whatsoever?
maybe if I give u permission(but u would have to tell me how and where) to share my laptop with u like remote something...u could check everything?
Oh...I did delete two programs Visual C ++ both of them...just to get some space...cause i though i was not using them...well I dont use them...maybe the laptop uses them and I dont know..probably thats why I get those errors..what to do now??is permanently
deleted about a week now
Do the drivers not update automatically? I thought they do?...

Click on Start
in the Search box, type
MSINFO32
and hit the Enter key
once it's opened, click on Hardware Resources, then Forced Hardware.
List any entries.
Device Manager shoudld open to a list of device types only - if anything shows a sub-entry, there's a problem.
List anything with a Yellow triangle or Red cross.
Now click on View - then 'Show Hidden devices' - do any sub-entries show now? - again, list any with yellow or red flags.
post back.

Sorry if this info is not relevant...Do u think there is still a problem with the activation of Windows that resolved itself when I ran the chkdsk? cause the key that is howing that has activated against which is the standard SONY key...is not the same labelled
on the back of my laptop???remember it was tampered? is now OK and showing as licenced. but its not tthe same key I have on the label???

OK - that all looks OK then.
I'd install that Visual C++ software that the article mentioned. You will need to visit Windows Updates afterewards, and check for updates, as it is rather old (and I know that there's at least one update for it)
Have you installed the 'new drivers' from the Sony website yet?Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi |

hi noel,
that link to Sony for the Bluetooth has a Important Note that says
Thus, if you are still using the preinstalled Operating System and didn"t delete the C:\Drivers folder
(for recent models) or still have your Recovery CD"s (for older models), you do not need to download this package
So I have not downloaded the package.
But I was just checking under device Manager and noticed that I have 18 copies of Generic Volume Shadow Copy and under Non Plug and Play Drivers I have Reflector
Display driver used to gain access to Graphics Data Also Remote Access Connection Driver, and another called RDPCDD ...and they are all from unknown publisher and manufacturer...maybe I should unistall them???
I will install the Visuall C ++ now

hi noel,
I updated all drivers and ran windows update and Vaio Update as well. The firewall settings I set to default cause I had been fidling and couldnt remember what to undo...and set to default on Firewall Advanced Settings as well. But I am still getting
event errors ...Also, I have been wondering why do I have the windows is activated against a key that is not the same I have on my label...u must remember we only ran the Chkdsk and that tampered sppuinotify resolved itself. Do u have any idea why ???
I am gonna upload another event (custom View) on my Skydrive public folder if u could have a look and see what might be causing these errors.
Really appreciate ur time and help....whenever u can.
Thank u

FYI - here's a little info on Keys, in the context of ones in use where the basic install is from a large manufacturer such as Sony.....
OEM _SLP:
This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes from the Factory. This key is geared to work with the special instructions found only on that Manufacturer's computer hardware. So when Windows was installed using the OEM_SLP key (at the factory)
Windows 7 looks at the motherboard and sees the special instructions and Self-Activates.
(that's why you did not need to Activate your computer after you brought it home)
COA_SLP:
This is the Product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or bottom,[ or
inside the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but should only be used in limited situations (such as if the OEM_SLP key stops self-activating for whatever reason). The key must be activated by Phone.
(Note: All manufacturers that use the OEM SLP system are required by contract
to include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker, that has a COA SLP key, on the
computer)Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi |

Hi Noel,
Thank u for the info. So when I ran the MGA tool should it not have recognized that same key that is pre installed ?why did it activate against the Sony standard key is what I dont understand...but anyway, windows is showing as Activated but the errors legitcheckControl
Active X error 0x800070002 on the MGA report are still there, and maybe that is causing part of the errors I have on event viewer? No?Did u have time to have a look on the event log I uploaded on Skydrive?
Thanks for ur time really appreciate it.
